No Checo, no party? Sergio Perez renews with Red Bull until 2024
Winning Monaco cleared all doubts Red Bull had about who would continue as Max Verstappen’s teammate.
The team is beyond doubt and on Tuesday this week, Sergio Perez announced that Sergio Perez has extended his contract for two more seasons with Red Bull.
The Mexican will wear the blue shirt until 2024. The results and performances he has had since arriving are enough for this to happen.
“Following the Monaco Grand Prix win, Oracle Red Bull Racing is pleased to announce that Sergio Perez has determined his future with the team with a two-year contract extension based on his current deal.”
How did Checo Perez extend his contract with Red Bull?
Checo comes to Red Bull in 2020 and with the team signed his best record in this category by scoring 190 points.
Christian Horner, the Red Bull team principal, stressed that Checo’s work since his arrival on the team has been a fundamental part of key moments.
“Since joining Oracle Red Bull Racing, Checo has done a great job. He has proven to himself that he is not only a great teammate but also his quality. It has grown to become a real force to be reckoned with. an ally on the network,” he commented.
“This year he took an important step forward and the gap with Max for the world championship has narrowed significantly, as shown when he took pole position in Jeddah earlier this year and then won. great in Monaco last weekend,” Horner added.
For his part, Checo is delighted to continue with the team where he grew up and has had some of his best moments in the premier league.
“For me it has been an unbelievable week, winning the Monaco Grand Prix is a dream for any driver and then being told that I will continue with the team until 2024 makes me extremely happy. I’m proud to be a part of this team and I feel at home,” the Mexican said on Red Bull’s website.
